I will give Jubilee Hotel a five star for letting us checked-in even before the check-in time. And they upgraded our room from Standard Suite to Family Room, with a kitchen, a big living room and 2 bedrooms, though we only used 1 room since we are only 3 and all girls.
A 4-star for the room, it is tidy and it's big, really big for the 3 of us, but their shower room is too small for such a big room. Tap water tastes rusty so brushing your teeth with that taste is kind of weird. The shower works fine too, but not as you expect to be clean and all.
Their car service is expensive (B$12 drop-off only & B$25 for drop-off and pick-up). If you want get a good deal, ask one of their drivers, Muhamar. He does a pick-up & drop off service on the side. If he's not at work, of course!
He's very friendly and can give you very good rate. He charged us for B$20.00 from Jubilee Hotel to Empire Hotel, then to Jame'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, The Malls and the night Market, then back to the hotel. It's always drop-off and pick-up arrangement so there’s no hassle.
Just tell him what time you want to be picked-up and where. People in Brunei are always on time so if you say 10:00pm he will be there, maybe because there's no traffic so no reason to be late.
Their cafe & restaurant is not a 24-hour so don't even think of eating there after a long day. You'll just end up buying instant noodles and biscuits from the adjacent mini-store. Not much of an options with their breakfast also and you can't complain since it's included in the room rate.
If you still have time after checking out, you can just leave your things at their reception area at no cost, very helpful!
It's always best to contact the Hotel directly for a rate as they have a package that Agoda or other hotel reservation companies don't offer. Here are the benefits they offer:
