How to Get to the Peak Tram Lower Terminus?

If it's your first time visiting Hong Kong, you'll surely need a detailed guide on how to go to the Peak Tram Lower Terminus. But once you get there, you'll find out that it's really not that complicated and actually very easy. We had a guide on the way there but going back we it did by ourselves.

Here's the detailed guide with photos to help you on getting to the terminus from the nearest MTR Stations. We bought a voucher from Klook so we had to meet up with their representative at the Central MTR Station, Exit K to get the actual ticket and to skip the long queue at the Peak Tram Terminus.

CENTRAL MTR STATION
You can actually go to the Peak Tram Lower Teminus from two exits of Central MTR Station, Exit K & Exit J2. Exit K leads to the Statue Square opposite the HSBC Main Building and the Bank of China Tower far left adjacent to the Cheung Kong Tower.  While Exit J2 leads to the Chater Garden near the Bank of China Tower.

From Exit K:

  • Walk your way to the Cheung Kong Tower by crossing the pedestrian lane, and walking pass through the ground floor of the HSBC Main Building.
  • As soon as you got out, a yellow building on the upper left will be visible, that's the back of St. John's Cathedral.

Garden Road
  • As soon as you see it, cross to the other side and turn left facing the Cheung Kong Centre and the Bank of China Tower. In between these two buildings is the Garden Road. St. John's Cathedral will be on your right side

From Exit J2:
  • Walk your way through Chater Garden towards where the Bank of China Tower is located. Cross Queen's Road Central and Garden Road heading to Cheung Kong Centre.

Whatever you choose from these exits, you'll still end up at the Garden Road.

  • Walk up this road until you reach the Lower Albert Road.  You can already see the Peak Tram's Fountain as far as the Cathedral.
Pedestrian Lane as seen from the side of the Fountain
  • Walk pass by the St. John's Cathedral which is still on your right side until you cross the pedestrian Lane. The terminus is located near the Citybank Tower at the first sight of the traffic lights. Wait for your turn then cross to the other side.

  • Walk along the pathway surrounding the fountain and you'll reach the Peak Tram Lower Terminus.

  • On the right side is the Peak Tram ticket window, while on the left is the Madam Tussaud's ticket office and the priority lane for guests who bought Madam Tussaud's Combo tickets and Klook guests.

ADMIRALTY MTR STATION:

From Exit C1:
  • Cross the bridge over Queensway to Pacific Place. Take the escalators on the right which will lead you to the shopping mall. Go to the very top and cross the road to Hong Kong Park. There are signs through the Park, just follow it until you reach the Peak Tram Lower Terminus.
  • Walk along the pathway surrounding the fountain and you'll reach the Peak Tram Lower Terminus. On the right side is the Peak Tram ticket window, while on the left is the Madam Tussaud's ticket office and the priority lane for guests who bought Madam Tussaud's Combo tickets and Klook guests.
The left side is where we entered, skipping the long queue at the ticket window. The lines at the ticket window and getting to the tram are long. So it's advisable that you buy a combo ticket or get one from Klook.
