Rafael Farm & Restaurant: A Relaxing Place with Beautiful View

This family owned farm is known for its sumptuous food, and a must visit when you go to Leyte.  We went there after visiting San Juanico Bridge so we had to travel for almost an hour and a half. The travel is all worth it because the place is very relaxing and peaceful. The restaurant is far from the highway, so you won't hear any noise, just the chirping of the the birds.
Farm's entrance, parking space is available just beside it
Souvenir shop located just before the exit gate
Wherever I look around the farm, it's all lush green, very pleasant to the eyes. I love how the place stays cool even at noon. There's a man-made lake where you can enjoy a boat ride (for rent) while taking in the view. Across the lake is a bridge, resembling the shape of San Juanico Bridge. Both a restaurant and a park, it has become one of the favorite places for locals and tourists.
Families spend their weekend at the farm, taking a boat ride at the man-made lake, playing at the tree house or just relaxing. It's a cozy & romantic place, best for wedding events and debuts.
The ambiance of the restaurant is very homey.  A lot of people eat here so if you are planning on going there make a reservation first. Otherwise, you will have to wait until there's a table available. when you go there without reservation, you'll have to wait to be seated.  You won't be bored waiting though because you will enjoy walking around the farm until they call for you.
This is the view when you eat at the cabana
You can eat inside the restaurant or at one of the cabanas overlooking a green pastures. Their menu shows local dishes, some may say Filipino's, and not necessarily Leyteno's cooking. I loved their version of Calamansi Juice with shredded carrots and cucumber, very refreshing! Well, I think I love most of the food that we ordered when we went there.
Sweet & Spicy Spare Ribs
Chicken Adobo
Pinakbet
Grilled Chicken
Dagmay (Leyteno's version of laing)
Pancit Canton
If you're going there just to take pictures, the guards will ask for an entrance fee of Php20.00. I've been here twice already and I will still come back given a chance.
