How men and flowers are alike? Generally speaking, men and flowers are very alike. Both have different characteristics, types and descriptions. 

Museo It Akean, Kalibo, Aklan

Museo de Akean is the province private museum housing the rich history of the province. Aklan being the oldest province in the Philippines is very rich of many wonderful cultures and histories.

It showcases the memorabilia of the Archbishop Grabiel M. Reyes. Jars, potteries, pina textiles, religious relics and other artifacts from Spanish era are displayed in there too.

I was not able to explore the museum when we went there because it's closed. But It's another reason why I would love to come back to Kalibo. To know and see the remnants of Aklan's history. 

The museum is located adjacent to the Kalibo Cathedral and near the Pastrana Park. 

Pastrana Park

Pastrana Park was declared by the local government as a municipal archaeological site because of its major significance to the town.

Kalibo Hotel (Formerly Beachcomber Inn)

 

It's conveniently located 10 minutes drive from Kalibo International Airport. The hotel is also a short walk from McDonalds and Jollibee. And if you are willing to walk, you can also reach the cathedral, the Pastrana Park and the Museo de Akean. And from there walk to the local market for some souvenirs.

Kalibo Hotel is a family owned hotel that gives guests a home-like stay in Kalibo since 1995. It's your home away from home. The decorations and the ambiance really give you that homey feeling.

The transportation terminals going to neighboring provinces and of course, Boracay are just around the corner. When you go out of the hotel, you'll find tricycles that can take you wherever you want to go.

When I was looking for a place to stay for just one night in Kalibo, this is the first hotel I preferred.  But since I will be with my friends I have to ask their opinions. In the end, we agreed to book in this hotel.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Free pick-up from airport is included in their package. You'll just have to coordinate with them the time you want to be picked-up.

However, since we are coming from Boracay and no need to be picked-up at the airport, I arranged with them I requested for a free drop-off to the airport instead. And they accommodated my request.

The hotel room we got is perfect for the three of us. The room has enough room to walk around even thought it has one double bed and one single bed. The room has a huge cabinet for your luggage and clothes, though it's no use for us because we're just staying a night.

The room has 32-inch LCD TV with 80 channels you can choose from, perfectly working air condition and room safe. The toilet and shower rooms are just okay, but at least there's a hot shower. We paid for only Php1,736.00 a night with free coffee and tea. If you are looking for a place to stay just for a night or long term, this hotel is the perfect place.

Kalibo Cathedral (Cathedral of St. John the Baptist)

Kalibo Cathedral, officially known as Cathedral of St. John the Baptist was constructed in 1804 after moving from it's original location in Barrio Laguinbanwa in Numancia.
