"A wild mix of education, conservation, and surprising
cuddles in Puerto Princesa"
If you’re visiting Puerto Princesa and want to see more than beaches and caves, this stop is for you. Once known as the Crocodile Farm & Nature Park, the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center (PWRCC) is now a haven not only for endangered crocodiles but for other native species like the Palawan bearcat (Binturong), hornbills, and more.
πΎ "I came for the crocs, but I stayed for the bearcat cuddle!"
𦴠What to Expect Inside
As you enter the main hall, you’ll be greeted by a massive saltwater crocodile skeleton encased in glass. Its skin—now dried—is mounted on the wall above. This crocodile was captured after a tragic incident where it attacked a child, and now stands as a stark reminder of how powerful these animals truly are.

π¨ “I’ve never been a fan of crocs… and seeing how huge they get only made my knees wobble!”
π The Crocodile Enclosure Tour
From the main hall, your guide will take you to the hatchling section, where you’ll see dozens of tiny crocodiles—months old and looking deceptively harmless.
Next stop: the adult enclosure. Here, metal walkways and viewing platforms let you safely observe the full-grown crocodiles, some of which are absolutely gigantic.
π· “Make sure your camera's ready—just don’t lean too close to the rails!”
πΎ Meet the Locals: Bearcats & More
Once the guided portion ends, you’re free to explore the center’s other residents:
- π¦ Palawan Bearcat (Binturong) – surprisingly cuddly for a “wild animal”
- π¦ Hornbills – colorful and noisy
- π Snakes, porcupines, civets, and other endemic species
