Strapped into a comfy seat under a colorful parachute, you're whisked into the air, pulled by a speedboat below. Sounds like fun? It is! But for someone like me who’s afraid of heights… it was a mixture of excitement and terror. 😅
Most parasailing activities are done from either:
- 🏖️ White Beach: The more scenic choice where you’ll see the iconic Boracay shoreline from above.
- 🌊 Bulabog Beach: This is where we did ours—less shoreline, but all the beautiful blue ocean and nearby islets made for a calming view.
📸 Tip: If you're after that iconic "Boracay-from-above" Instagram photo, try booking from White Beach instead.
😬 My Honest Experience: Scared but Still Did It
Even though I have a fear of heights, I knew I’d regret not trying it. And surprisingly—I didn't feel scared at first. The ride up was smooth and peaceful. But once I looked down and saw the boat getting smaller… my feet literally turned cold! 🥶
The operator mentioned that if we wanted to be pulled down early, we just had to rotate one arm in a signal. I did it after a few minutes… but he didn’t pull us down. Maybe the 15 minutes wasn’t up yet. Or maybe they thought I was waving at seagulls.
We chose the 3-seater ride so I wasn't alone, which helped me feel safer. Still, I couldn’t help but imagine "What if this steel rope snaps?" 😱 That’s just my brain being dramatic, of course—everything felt secure and professional.

💞 Update: I Did It Again!
When my boyfriend from the U.S. visited me for the first time, we did this again—and surprise: I was still scared. 😂
