πŸ›¬ How to Get from Caticlan Airport to Boracay Island (Updated 2024 Guide)

Caticlan Airport (Godofredo P. Ramos Airport) is the nearest gateway to Boracay Island, favored for its convenience and proximity. The journey from the airport to Boracay takes about 30 minutes, including a scenic boat ride! 🚀🏝️

πŸ“Œ Step 1: Arrival at Caticlan Airport

Upon landing:

  • 🧾 Register at the tourist counter beside the airport exit.
  • πŸ’΅ Pay for the combined tricycle + boat ticket (approx. Php235 for 3 people).
  • 🎟️ Get your tickets covering the tricycle ride and boat fare.

πŸ›Ί Step 2: Tricycle Ride to the Jetty Port

The tricycle terminal is right outside the airport. Show your ticket to the driver — they know exactly where to go.

There are two jetty ports based on the season:

  • ☀️ Caticlan Jetty Port (dry season/summer)
  • 🌧️ Tabon Jetty Port (monsoon season/Habagat)

During our July visit, we used Tabon Jetty Port.

Step 3: Pay Environmental & Admission Fees

Before entering the port, pay:

  • ♻️ Environmental & Admission Fee: Php75/person
  • 🚫 Terminal Fee: Usually Php100 but sometimes waived

Then proceed to the boarding area for pump boats (bancas).

⛵ Step 4: Board the Pump Boat to Boracay

Boat ride is about 15 minutes, weather permitting.

Boracay has two ports:

  • Cagban Port (dry season)
  • πŸ›Ά Tambisaan Port (rainy season)

Tambisaan Port requires stepping onto sand/shallow water—porters can help with heavy bags for a tip.

πŸš• Step 5: Final Tricycle Ride to Your Hotel

Outside the port:

  • πŸš— Tricycle to White Beach: Php100/ride (up to 3 people)
  • 🚲 Optional pedicab to hotel entrance: Php20/person

Ride takes roughly 10 minutes. Ask to be dropped near your hotel’s main road if it’s not beachfront.

πŸ“ Final Travel Tips

  • πŸ‘Ÿ Wear comfy shoes — expect some walking.
  • πŸŒ‚ Bring sandals or a towel in the rainy season for wet port landings.
  • πŸ™‹‍♂️ Ask locals or follow other travelers if lost.
  • πŸŽ’ Lighten your luggage — rolling bags are tricky on sand.
  • 🚦 Expect traffic even with tricycles during peak season.
