🚍 How to Get to Xinshe District from Taichung City | Taiwan Travel Guide 2025

When we were planning our trip to Xinshe, we discovered that it’s actually easy to reach from Taichung City — whether you’re taking the train, bus, or even taxi. It’s one of those scenic routes where you can enjoy the countryside views before arriving at the beautiful flower farms and tourist attractions in Xinshe.

🚆 Option 1: By Train

1. Take a train from Taichung Station to Tanzih Station.
2. From Tanzih, you can transfer to a local bus or taxi heading to Zhongxingling (中興嶺), the main stop in Xinshe.

💡 Travel Tip:
If you’re carrying heavy luggage or traveling with kids, it’s better to take the bus directly from Taichung Station instead of transferring from Tanzih.

🚌 Option 2: By Bus

There are 10 bus routes that go to Xinshe District — routes 31, 91, 264, 265, 270, 271, 272, 275, 276, and 277, all stopping at Zhongxingling (中興嶺).

1. From HSR Taichung Station, exit at Exit 6, then take City Bus #18–20 or a taxi going to Taichung Railway Station, where the Fengyuan Bus Terminal is located.
• 🚕 Taxi fare: around NT$260 (₱390)
• 🚌 Bus fare: around NT$20 (₱30)
2. From Taichung Railway Station, take one of the following:
• Bus #270, 271, or 276 (Taichung → Dongshi Fengyuan)
• UBUS #31 (Taichung Train Station → Zhongxingling)

👉 Get off at Xinshe Zhongxingling stop — this is where you’ll meet your Xinshe Tour Guide.

• 💰 Bus Fare: NT$40 (₱60)
• ⏱️ Travel Time: ~1 hour
• 🎟️ Xinshe Tour Price: NT$250 (₱374)

🌸 We initially planned to take the bus when we were doing our itinerary because it’s affordable and lets you see more of the local life along the way. The countryside scenery as you approach Xinshe is absolutely beautiful — a great prelude to what’s waiting at the Flower Carpet Festival and Lavender Cottage! However, since we were offered a taxi service going there, we opted for that instead. It turned out to be more convenient and saved us a lot of travel time. 🚖✨
