πΊ️ A Scenic First Stop
Our Kalibo day tour began at the off-the-radar but breathtaking AFGA Wave Rock Formation. I initially saw it online and thought—why not? We're already in the area!
We asked our friendly tricycle driver about it. Though unfamiliar with the rock formation itself, he knew about AFGA Lighthouse, so we headed there first. And honestly? It was a serendipitous detour.
π΅️ Flowers, Lighthouse & the Path to the Shore
As we walked toward the lighthouse, vibrant flowers lining the roadside caught our attention. Naturally, we had a mini photo shoot! πΈπΊ
Eventually, we asked a local where the wave rock was—and he pointed down the shore, right below the lighthouse.
π The Wave Rock Wonder
And there it was—the stunning wave-like curves carved into natural rock formations. As a nature lover and rock geek, I was in awe.
Not only are the waves captivating, but there are also other uniquely-shaped rocks scattered along the shore that make you appreciate the natural artistry of coastal erosion and time.
π€« Peace, Quiet & A Bit of Heat
AFGA is a quiet barangay next to Jawili—peaceful and totally removed from the bustle of touristy spots. But heads-up: even at 8:00 AM, it was hot and humid. If you're sensitive to heat like me, plan to visit this early in the day.
