π΄ A Grand Arrival at a Six-Star Paradise
Situated beside one of the world’s oldest rainforests in Borneo, this six-star property is a destination on its own. Although it’s a bit far from central Bandar Seri Begawan, the scenic drive made it worthwhile. Our hotel driver offered a round trip for B$20, which we found to be very convenient and fair.

There was no gate or strict security at the entrance, so getting in was a breeze. From the outside, the hotel looks modest—but don’t be fooled.
✨ A Glimpse of Royal Luxury

Once inside, I immediately understood why it’s ranked so highly. The grand marble atrium, towering columns, and regal interiors were stunning. Designed by more than 300 elite craftsmen over six years, it opened in October 2000 and continues to represent Brunei’s majestic and cultural heritage.
We even met several Filipino staff, who warmly welcomed us and made our visit even more memorable.
πΈ TIP: The main atrium is the perfect spot for Instagram-worthy photos!
π️ Exploring the Beach & Pools
I had high expectations for their private beach, but the sand wasn’t as white as I’d imagined—especially after seeing the beaches of Boracay, Pagudpud, and Calaguas. Still, it was peaceful and scenic.

We wandered further and found the pool area, which offered the best angles for hotel photos. A manager kindly took our pictures but later reminded us that the pool was exclusive for hotel guests. Oops! π
