🌆My Visit to Sky Terrace 428 at The Peak: Fog, Love & Skyline Dreams

🌆 Sky Terrace 428: The Peak Experience I Didn’t Expect

I had been dreaming of visiting The Peak for years. You know those classic Hong Kong skyline shots you see on postcards? Most of them are taken from here—from Sky Terrace 428, the highest viewing platform in the city. Of course, I had to see it for myself.

So I rode the famous Peak Tram (more on that in another post!) and finally made it up. It was chilly, the wind was strong, and... foggy. Typical Hong Kong.

👀 A 360° View (When the Fog Clears)

They say Sky Terrace 428 offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Victoria Harbour, Central’s skyscrapers, and the outlying islands. Honestly? The fog was playing hide-and-seek with the city that day. One second the skyline was visible, the next it vanished behind mist.

I laughed at how nature made my photo-taking mission a challenge. But when the clouds cleared, even just for a few seconds—it was breathtaking. The view really does make you feel like you're on top of the world. 🌏

💘 “Say I Love You” at The Peak – Wishing Corner

Up on the terrace, there’s this huge red heart—Hong Kong’s version of a romantic photo op. You can write a wish or love note and hang it like a love lock.

I stood there thinking, “Should I write one?” But the truth is... 💬 If you love someone, wouldn’t it be better to tell them directly? Still, I smiled watching couples carefully pin their cards, capturing the moment for Instagram or maybe for their memories.

If you’re with your partner, I think it’s a sweet gesture. But if you’re traveling solo like I was—just enjoy the atmosphere, the breeze, and the feeling of being suspended above the city.

⏳ Expect Crowds & Photo Bombers

Getting that “perfect” selfie or skyline photo takes patience. It’s a popular spot, so you’ll likely have to wait for others to move, or you’ll just embrace the chaos and make it part of the fun. 😅

I found a quiet corner, snapped a candid with my hair blowing like crazy, and decided that was enough. Sometimes, the memory is more important than the perfect shot.

💡 My Travel Tips

✅ Check the weather before going up—foggy days can block your view.
✅ Bring a light jacket—even in warm months, it’s breezy up there.
✅ Come early morning or late evening for the best light (and cooler air).
✅ Have your wish card message ready if you want to hang one at the heart!
