🌴 Things to See & Do in Quezon Province: A 2-Day Travel Guide

"Explore Culture, Churches, Food, and Hidden Gems in the Heart of Southern Luzon"

If you’re planning a short getaway filled with history, faith, food, and culture, Quezon Province might surprise you. I recently explored some of its most beautiful towns — Lucena, Lucban, Tayabas, and Sariaya — on a quick 2-day and 1-night trip. Each town has its own charm and character, and what I love the most is how every turn feels like it has a story to tell.

Let me walk you through the places I’ve seen — starting from the farthest, all the way back to where I stayed at Quezon Premier Hotel.

🚐 Lucena City

Lucena is more than just a jump-off point — it’s the transportation hub of Quezon Province, home to the Grand Central Terminal and lively events like the Pasayahan sa Lucena Festival held every May.

Despite being a busy city, Lucena has its own quiet charms — historical parks, peaceful churches, and a strong connection to its namesake, President Manuel L. Quezon.

🏑 Lucban

Lucban is not only known for the famous Pahiyas Festival, but also for its cultural and religious landmarks. I visited early in the morning to make the most of my day and found so much more than I expected.

Whether you're here for a pilgrimage or a quick stroll through town, Lucban offers a blend of spirituality, native crafts, and must-try food like pancit habhab and longganisa.

Tayabas

Tayabas, the former capital of Quezon, was once described as “the richest and gayest” town in the province. You’ll see why — its wide streets, century-old churches, and well-preserved Spanish buildings are all part of the town’s charm.

Tayabas is also known for Lambanog, Mayohan Festival, and that famous Rodillas Yema Cake. I missed a few spots, so I’m definitely coming back!

πŸ›️ Sariaya

This town has always piqued my curiosity. I’ve passed by it countless times on trips to Marinduque, and finally, I got the chance to walk around and appreciate the ancestral homes and town plaza that make Sariaya unique.

Sariaya is a town that has aged gracefully. Every old house tells a story, and the Pinagong bread you’ll find in street stalls is the perfect way to end your visit.

There’s still so much to explore in Quezon Province — from white-sand beaches to hidden mountain spots. But for a quick weekend escape, this loop through Lucena, Lucban, Tayabas, and Sariaya offers the perfect combination of history, culture, spirituality, and local flavor.

πŸ‘£ Ready to go? Pack comfy shoes, bring your camera, and keep an open heart for the stories that Quezon will whisper through its streets.
