🏝️How to Get to Calaguas Island from Manila | Travel Guide 2025

Visiting Calaguas Island is a dream for beach lovers who crave white sand, turquoise waters, and a peaceful escape. Whether you’re a backpacker, budget traveler, or comfort-seeking explorer, there’s a route that suits your style. Here’s how to get to this paradise from Manila, broken down into ✈️ flights, 🚐 tours, and 🚍 DIY commuting options.

✈️ Option 1: By Air – Fast and Easy

If budget isn’t a big concern and you value time, flying is the most convenient way.

Steps:

  1. Book a flight from Manila to Naga City Airport.
Tip: Book early or watch out for seat sales from local airlines.
  2. From the airport, ride a jeepney to Daet.
  3. From Daet, proceed to terminals for a van or jeepney to Paracale or Vinzons—your jump-off points to Calaguas.

🧳 Option 2: By Tour Package – Hassle-Free & Social

If you prefer convenience and meeting new friends, go for a tour package.

Why choose this?

  • Tour agencies provide transportation, accommodation (tent/cottage), meals, and sometimes even a 📸 photographer.
  • No planning stress—just show up and enjoy the trip!
  • Many packages include a side trip to 🌊 Bagasbas Beach in Daet.

💬 We personally tried Travel Factor, and it was a great experience! Everything was well-organized, and the team was friendly and professional.

🚍 Option 3: By Land (DIY) – Budget-Friendly & Adventurous

If you're on a budget or enjoy the thrill of planning your own trip, commuting is very doable.

Step-by-step:

  1. Take a bus or UV Express van from Manila to Daet or Paracale, Camarines Norte.
  2. Ride usually takes 8 to 9 hours, so travel overnight to arrive in the morning.
  3. From Daet, take a van/jeepney to your chosen jump-off point (Paracale or Vinzons).

  • Travel time to Paracale: 🚐 ~2 hours by van or jeepney
  • Boat ride: ⛵ ~2 hours (depending on sea conditions)
  • Boat rental: ₱2,500₱5,000 (rates depend on number of passengers and your haggling skills)
