A tranquil escape in Tangalan, Aklan where nature,
history, and local charm flow together.
π️ What is Jawili Falls?
Jawili Falls is one of the most well-known natural attractions in Tangalan, Aklan. Famous for its seven-tiered basins, the falls were naturally carved out by centuries of flowing water. Each level forms a small pool where locals and tourists alike come to cool off, relax, or take scenic photos.
I first discovered Jawili Falls through pictures online. It looked absolutely magical—lush greenery, layered cascades, and serene pools. Naturally, I was excited. But when I finally visited, I was a bit disappointed.
π️ Dry Season Visit: A Bit of a Letdown
Unfortunately, our trip was during the dry season, so the falls had started to dry up. There wasn’t much water flowing, which took away a lot of the grandeur. Still, I was determined to enjoy the experience.
From Jawili Beach, locals will tell you it’s only a 5-minute walk—but if you’re a tourist, let’s be real—it’s more like 10–15 minutes. Thankfully, we had a tricycle to take us there.
πΊ What to Expect at Jawili Falls
- πͺ Cottages & Small Park – There are small huts and seating areas if you want to stay for a while, though it’s unclear if they accommodate overnight stays.
- π Photo Opportunities – Flowers line the path to the falls, and I managed to take some lovely shots that made the short trip worth it.
- π§ Local Life – You’ll likely see kids swimming, families lounging, and even couples sharing sweet moments by the water.
π§ Climbing Up the Falls
We decided to walk past the lower basin and climb to the top of the falls to see where the water originates. The path is narrow but paved with concrete, so it was easier than expected.
At the top, the view was refreshing—lush trees, breeze in your face, and the calm of nature. I just wish there was more water flowing, because the view would’ve been breathtaking.
✅ Travel Tips for Jawili Falls
