🎨 Trick Eye Museum Hong Kong: Step Into Art at The Peak

I’ve always been fascinated by art that bends reality—and the Trick Eye Museum in Hong Kong does exactly that! After missing the chance to visit their original branch in Seoul, Korea during a rushed trip, I made sure to squeeze this one into my itinerary while visiting The Peak. Honestly? It was one of the most unexpectedly fun stops!

πŸ‘️ What Is the Trick Eye Museum?

It’s not your typical art gallery. Using trompe l’oeil techniques, the museum creates optical illusions where flat paintings look like they’re popping out of the walls. And here’s the fun part: you become part of the artwork!

πŸ“Έ Pose, laugh, and interact—just follow the photo instructions on the floor to find the perfect angle for each illusion.

There are over 50 installations and 3D paintings spread across five themed zones, each with its own creative vibe.

πŸ–Ό️ Themed Zones You Shouldn’t Miss:

1. 🌿 Secret Garden

The first zone you’ll see—full of nature-inspired art, vivid blues and greens. Very relaxing and photogenic!

2. πŸ–Œ️ World of Masterpieces

Ever dreamed of becoming the Mona Lisa? Now’s your chance! Reimagine famous artworks with yourself as the subject.

3. πŸ§— Great Adventure

From shark attacks to cliff climbing illusions, this is where your inner action hero comes alive. One of the most fun zones to play around in!

4. 🧚 Neverland

This zone is quirky and playful. Inspired by fairytales (like The Emperor's New Clothes), it’ll have you giggling at the results.

5. πŸ™️ Hong Kong Discovery

A local twist! Take a virtual trip across Hong Kong landmarks. I loved the Big Buddha illusion and the romantic boat ride scene under the city lights.

🧍 My Experience

I had more fun than expected—laughing at silly poses, redoing shots until the illusion worked, and watching fellow tourists get creative too. This is the perfect indoor break after exploring The Peak’s outdoor terrace, especially when it’s foggy or rainy up there.

🎯 Tip: If you’re already at Sky Terrace 428, this is just steps away inside Peak Galleria.

🎟️ Bonus tip: If you have extra time and budget, pop into Madame Tussauds next door. It's a nice double-feature if you're already up the mountain!
