🌟 Avenue of Stars Hong Kong: Bruce Lee, Garden of Stars, and Starry Gallery

The Avenue of Stars in Hong Kong is one of the top attractions for fans of movies, Hong Kong cinema, and of course, Bruce Lee. When I first visited in 2015, the promenade was temporarily closed for renovations — and yes, I was crushed. But don’t worry, the newly renovated Avenue of Stars is now open and more beautiful than ever!

πŸ—Ί️ Where Is the Avenue of Stars Now?

The Avenue of Stars is now located at the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Kowloon. It’s beautifully redesigned and continues to honor Hong Kong's movie legends with interactive and scenic installations.

πŸš† How to Get There:

  • By MTR:
    • Take the train to East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Exit J, or
    • Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Exit E
    • Walk towards Salisbury Road and cross at the pedestrian lane.
  • By Ferry:
    • Ride the Star Ferry from Central or Wan Chai to Tsim Sha Tsui
    • Walk about 10 minutes to the promenade.

πŸ₯‹ Can You Still See Bruce Lee?

Absolutely! The famous Bruce Lee sculpture — yes, that iconic fighting stance — can now be found at the Garden of Stars, which served as a temporary home during the renovations. Even now, it continues to be a highlight of the area.

🌳 Garden of Stars

Located near Exit P1 of East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, this park became the interim home of many of the Avenue’s beloved features during construction. It now serves as an extended cinematic park, featuring:

  • πŸŽ₯ Avenue of Stars sculptures
  • 🌟 10–20 star handprints
  • 🎬 Movie-themed artwork
  • 🎞️ “Starlight Cinema” painting display with famous film scenes
  • πŸ’¬ Light poles with iconic movie quotes

🚢 How to Get to Garden of Stars:

  • From Salisbury Road coach layby: use the stairs, escalator, or lift via the footbridge.
  • From MTR East Tsim Sha Tsui Station: take the lift next to Exit P1 (press “Pd”), or
use the nearby escalator/stairs from Tsim Sha Tsui East (Mody Road) Bus Terminus.

πŸ–Ό️ Starry Gallery – A Tribute to Hong Kong Cinema

Connected directly to the East Tsim Sha Tsui Station Exit J, the Starry Gallery offers:

  • Star photos and film visuals
  • 🎞️ Movie titles and elements
  • πŸ–Œ️ Artworks showcasing classic movie scenes
  • 🧭 Historical snapshots of Hong Kong’s cinematic legacy

🧭 How to Get There:

  • MTR East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Exit J
  • Subway entrance next to The Peninsula (via SOGO B1/F)
  • Subway entrance next to Sheraton Hotel (along Nathan Road)

πŸ’¬ Personal Note

One of my biggest reasons for visiting Hong Kong was to take a photo with the Bruce Lee statue. I’ve been a fan since childhood, and my sister even dreamed of becoming a policewoman because of him — she admired his moves so much! πŸ˜„ I can't wait to show her my own photos from the promenade.

πŸ“Œ Final Tips:

  • Check official advisories or updates via Hong Kong Tourism Board for schedule changes.
  • Wear comfy shoes — there’s a lot of walking and picture-taking ahead!
  • Go around sunset for beautiful harbor views and magical night lights.

πŸ“· Stay tuned — I’ll be posting my own pictures and more Hong Kong travel stories soon!
