Incheon International Airport (ICN) is not only the largest airport in South Korea, but it's also ranked as one of the cleanest and most efficient international transit airports in the world—right up there with Singapore Changi and Tokyo Haneda, according to Skytrax. As the main gateway to Seoul and the surrounding capital area, it sees millions of travelers each year.
If you're arriving in Korea for the first time, the airport can feel huge and overwhelming. Trust me—we had to walk quite far and figure things out on the go, which was exhausting after a long flight. So I’ve put together this helpful guide to make your arrival a little smoother. 🧳
📋 ARRIVAL PROCEDURE
Before entering the country, all foreign visitors must complete immigration and customs procedures. To save time, it’s a good idea to complete the required forms on the plane—these are usually handed out by the flight attendants.
Here are the documents you need:
1. Arrival Card
- Required for all visitors.
- If you're staying more than 90 days and already registered with the Korea Immigration Service, you're exempt.
2. Customs Declaration Form
- Required for all travelers.
- One form per person, except when traveling with family—in that case, one form for the whole family is sufficient.
3. Quarantine Questionnaire
- Only required if you've visited countries with reported outbreaks of cholera, yellow fever, or other designated pests.
Once you’ve completed these, follow the signs to Immigration, where you’ll present your documents and passport.
🛂 IMMIGRATION CLEARANCE
After submitting the above documents at Immigration, your fingerprints and photo will be taken. Once cleared, you can proceed to baggage claim and then to customs.

🧭 A Quick Personal Tip
Incheon Airport is huge, and it’s easy to feel lost if it’s your first time. We had to walk quite far before figuring out where to go—and after a long flight, that was not fun 😅. My advice: follow the signs carefully, and if you're unsure, don’t hesitate to ask airport staff—they’re very helpful and speak basic English.
