Mahabang Buhangin Beach is located in Calaguas Island in Camarines Norte. It is said to be beautiful as Boracay Island when it's not yet commercialized. I've been to Boracay three times already and I can say now that I still prefer to go back to Mahabang Buhangin instead of the White Beach in Boracay Island.

Bagasbas Beach is the popular surfing destination in Camarines Norte and often visited by tourists. Being near the beautiful island of Calaguas, it's the perfect destination for lovers of big waves. I was able to visit this beach because it was included in the Beach Bumming Package we bought from a travel agency, Travel Factor.

After spending a night at Calaguas Island, we were brought here by the agency's bus. It's just a half-day tour before heading back to Manila, but they told us that we can still take a dip or learn how to surf if we want to.

Aside from perfect waves for surfing, the beach is said to have a perfect sunrise too. I wasn't able to see it for myself because we went there late afternoon. But I'm sure it's a perfect site while walking on its 3 kilometers of gray fine sand.

Sometimes, the problem with people, they don't love their beaches enough that they don't take care of it. I wished people visited this beach will be more disciplined and don't throw garbage on the sand or at least clean after themselves to save the perfect image of the beach. I can see a lot of garbage scattered on the sand.

Anyway, while the others enjoy surfing, my friends and I had a food trip instead. Near the beach are street food vendors where you can feast while enjoying the sea breeze and the sound of the waves. After eating and while waiting for our time to depart, we just sat there watching the surfers challenging the waves.

I wished I did a lot of exploring at that time and of course took a lot of pictures, even if my camera is not high tech. Because every time I see some of the photos from then, I wanted to go back. One of these days, I will go back and explore Bagasbas Beach and the rest of Camarines Norte.
