How to Get to Calaguas from Manila?

Via Air
  • There are daily flights from Manila to Naga City airport. If you want to get a cheap are, then schedule your flight a year before your visit, or watch out for seat sales from different airlines.
  • From the airport ride a jeepney bound for Daet. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest terminal going to Paracale or Vinzons for the boat ride going to Calaguas Island.
Via a Tour Agency/Tour Package:
  • If you want to spend a few bucks and opt for convenience, then go for a Tour Package from one of the Travel Agencies that offers a very competitive rate. For me, this is the best way to visit the Island with a side trip to Bagasbas Beach.
  • The best thing about a tour agency is, you don’t have to worry about anything.  They will provide the transportation, tent/accommodation, food, and sometimes, a photographer! We tried the service of the Travel Factor and I can't say anything bad about them. They really handled everything!

How to Get to Calaguas from Daet?

Via Paracale
From Daet, you can take a van or jeepney going to Paracale which takes less than 2 hours. Boat ride from Paracale to Calaguas Island takes approximately 2 hours, depends on the weather.  Boat for rent ranges from Php2,500 to Php5,000.00 depending on your haggling skills & the number of passengers. They said boats here are smaller, so if you are worried, you can take the Vinzons route.

Via Vinzons
From Daet, you can take either a jeepney or tricycles going to the fish port which takes less than an hour.  Just keep in mind that the less land travel, the longer the sailing.  Sailing time is approximately 3 hours from Vinzons to Calaguas.  The boat here are big, I just can't compare to what's in Paracale because we took Vinzons when we visited. Life vests are also provided.
