Planning a trip to Taiwan? Here's a 4-day sample itinerary we originally created before our travel. This is our planned itinerary based on Google Maps and extensive research. We made some changes during the actual trip due to time constraints, which I’ll be sharing in a separate post soon (with actual travel times and notes).

This itinerary covers Taipei, Taichung, and Cingjing (Nantou District)—perfect for first-timers wanting a scenic mix of city, mountain, and countryside adventures. 


πŸ—“️ DAY 1 – NOV 26, 2016 (Saturday)

✈️ Arrival in Taiwan + Transfer to Cingjing, Nantou

  • πŸ•– 7:00 AM – Flight from NAIA, Manila
  • πŸ›¬ 9:15 AM – 10:00 AM – Arrival at Taoyuan Int'l Airport | Immigration
  • πŸš† 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM – Transfer to Taoyuan HSR Station
  • πŸš„ 10:34 AM – 11:15 AM – HSR to Taichung Station
  • πŸš— 11:15 AM – 1:15 PM – Private car transfer to Spring Ground B&B (Cingjing)
  • 🧳 1:15 PM – 1:30 PM – Drop luggage at Spring Ground B&B

🏞️ Afternoon Itinerary:

  • 🍰 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM – Afternoon tea at Old England Manor
  • πŸ‘ 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM – Visit Cingjing Farm / Green Green Grassland
  • 🌸 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM – Explore Small Swiss Garden
  • 🍴 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM – Dinner at Carton King (includes free Small Swiss Garden access)
  • 🌌 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM – Back to Spring Ground B&B | Rest

Reserve ahead for Old England Manor.
Most attractions in Cingjing are walkable.
Bring a jacket it gets chilly in the mountains.

  • 🏰 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM – Visit Xinshe Castle and Sea of Flowers

Lavender Cottage offers lunch and photo ops.
Xinshe Castle is known for its European architecture.
Night markets are busiest after 7 PM.

  • 🐾 10:00 AM – 3:30 PMTaipei Zoo + Optional Maokong Gondola Ride
  • 🧳 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM – Return to hotel | Freshen up & prepare luggage
  • 🚌 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM – Transfer to Taoyuan International Airport
  • ✈️ 8:30 PM – Flight departure

Taipei Zoo is big wear comfy shoes.
If short on time, ride the gondola for views, then skip deeper zoo areas.

    1. Hi, yes we did except for the National Palace. We we're too tired that day so we just decided to skip the palace and went to Shilin Market instead.
