πΊ️ 4D3N Taiwan Sample Itinerary: Taipei, Taichung, and Nantou (Planned Itinerary)
Planning a trip to Taiwan? Here's a 4-day sample itinerary we originally created before our travel. This is our planned itinerary based on Google Maps and extensive research. We made some changes during the actual trip due to time constraints, which I’ll be sharing in a separate post soon (with actual travel times and notes).
This itinerary covers Taipei, Taichung, and Cingjing (Nantou District)—perfect for first-timers wanting a scenic mix of city, mountain, and countryside adventures.
π️ DAY 1 – NOV 26, 2016 (Saturday)
✈️ Arrival in Taiwan + Transfer to Cingjing, Nantou
- π 7:00 AM – Flight from NAIA, Manila
- π¬ 9:15 AM – 10:00 AM – Arrival at Taoyuan Int'l Airport | Immigration
- π 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM – Transfer to Taoyuan HSR Station
- π 10:34 AM – 11:15 AM – HSR to Taichung Station
- π 11:15 AM – 1:15 PM – Private car transfer to Spring Ground B&B (Cingjing)
- π§³ 1:15 PM – 1:30 PM – Drop luggage at Spring Ground B&B
π️ Afternoon Itinerary:
- π° 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM – Afternoon tea at Old England Manor
- π 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM – Visit Cingjing Farm / Green Green Grassland
- πΈ 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM – Explore Small Swiss Garden
- π΄ 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM – Dinner at Carton King (includes free Small Swiss Garden access)
- π 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM – Back to Spring Ground B&B | Rest

Most attractions in Cingjing are walkable.

Bring a jacket — it
gets chilly in the mountains.
π️ DAY 2 – NOV 27, 2016 (Sunday)
πΊ Xinshe Day Tour + Transfer to Taipei

- π 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM – Travel to TRA Taichung Station | Store luggage
- π 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM – Drive to Lavender Cottage
- π 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM – Explore Lavender Cottage + Lunch
- π° 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM – Visit Xinshe Castle and Sea of Flowers
- π 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM – HSR to Taipei | Check-in at Just Sleep Ximending
- π 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM – Stroll & eat at Ximending Night Market

Xinshe Castle is known for its European architecture.

Night markets are busiest after 7 PM.

- π₯ 11:15 AM – 12:30 PM – Lunch at Din Tai Fung

- πΊ 3:15 PM – 5:00 PM – National Palace Museum
- π 5:45 PM – 8:15 PM – Explore Shilin Night Market
- π¨ 9:00 PM – Back to hotel | Rest

Taipei 101 gets crowded —
go early or book tickets online.
π️ DAY 4 – NOV 29, 2016 (Tuesday)
πΌ Zoo Visit + Departure
- π 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM – Visit Longshan Temple + Qingshan Temple
- πΎ 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM – Taipei Zoo + Optional Maokong Gondola Ride
- π§³ 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM – Return to hotel | Freshen up & prepare luggage
- π 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM – Transfer to Taoyuan International Airport
- ✈️ 8:30 PM – Flight departure
π Final Tips:

Taipei Zoo is big —
wear comfy shoes.
✅
If short on time, ride the gondola for views, then skip deeper zoo areas.

ReplyDeleteHi, yes we did except for the National Palace. We we're too tired that day so we just decided to skip the palace and went to Shilin Market instead.
