🧺 DIY Hanger with Clothespins: A Quick and Cheap Laundry Hack for Parents

Need extra hangers with clothespins but don’t want to run to the store (or spend extra)? Try this quick and easy DIY solution—perfect for drying baby clothes, socks, face masks, or other small items.

🛠️ What You’ll Need

  1. 🪝 Metal Hanger
Stronger and more durable than plastic ones—important for holding multiple items without bending.
  2. 🧷 Clothespins
You can use any type you already have. Buying extra clothespins is still cheaper than buying new specialty hangers.
  3. 🔗 Zip Ties
Any color works—use what you have or choose a color to match your laundry area.
  4. ✂️ Scissors
Used to trim off the excess ends of the zip ties.

🧶 How to Make It

  1. Attach clothespins to the bottom bar of your metal hanger using zip ties.
  2. Make sure the pins are spaced apart evenly to prevent items from overlapping.
  3. Pull each zip tie tightly to secure the pins, then snip off the excess with scissors.
  4. Done! You now have a multi-use hanger for small laundry items.

💡 Why I Made This

When I had my baby, I suddenly found myself running out of hangers. I didn’t have time to go to the mall, but I had a pile of metal hangers, spare clothespins, and zip ties. A few minutes later—voilà! A functional and cost-effective drying solution. 🙌

🍼 Perfect For:

  • Baby clothes & mittens
  • Face towels or washcloths
  • Undergarments & socks
  • Eco-friendly laundry setups

✅ DIY Tip:

Try making a few of these at once—you'll be surprised how handy they are when you're doing large loads of laundry or traveling somewhere with limited hanging space.

❤️ This little hack saved me during busy, sleep-deprived newborn days—and it continues to help me stay organized and efficient. I hope it helps you too. 😊
