🏞️ The Peak Galleria Hong Kong: Free Viewpoint, Food Finds & Hidden Charm at The Peak

If you're visiting Hong Kong and find The Peak Tower a little too crowded for your taste (like we did!), consider walking just a few steps further to The Peak Galleria. Nestled on the same scenic Victoria Peak, this lesser-known gem offers a more relaxed experience — without sacrificing the stunning views.

I honestly didn’t expect much from this place at first, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. We were looking for a spot to sit down and breathe after navigating the crowd at the Peak Tram and the packed Peak Tower shops. As soon as we entered Peak Galleria, the open space and cool breeze were such a welcome change!

🔄 Updates (as of 2025):

  • Observatory Deck (Level 3) remains free-entry and open daily. It’s more spacious than the one at Peak Tower.
  • 🚫 Trick Eye Museum is permanently closed since 2022.
  • 🛍️ The mall still features a mix of international and local shops, cafés, and food spots.
  • 🚶‍♀️ Direct access to the Peak Tram upper terminus is still available inside.

🌟 What to Do & What to See:

📸 Take in the View from Level 3 Observatory Deck
The best part? No need to pay extra for a great view! We just walked right up to the Level 3 outdoor deck and had a panoramic shot of the city — with fewer people photobombing.

🛍️ Window Shop or Pick Up Souvenirs
There are quaint little shops selling everything from Hong Kong-themed magnets to luxury skincare. We didn’t plan to shop, but a few things still made it to our bags. 😅

📷 Photo Spots & Instagrammable Corners
The entire Galleria is tastefully designed with modern interiors and nice lighting, especially during the holidays. We were there around Christmas, and the lights added so much charm.

🎨 Public Art Installations
Keep an eye out for rotating art pieces or displays inside — they’re often overlooked but can be quite eye-catching!

🍴 Where to Eat at Peak Galleria

🥢 Tsui Wah Restaurant – Famous Hong Kong-style café serving milk tea, pineapple buns, and curry dishes.
Starbucks Reserve – Has terrace seating overlooking the skyline. We grabbed coffee here and just chilled.
🍦 Häagen-Dazs Café – A sweet treat spot with an open view. Great for kids or just dessert lovers like me.
🥡 Local Food Court (Basement Level) – Offers quick eats if you’re on a budget or in a hurry.

💡 Tips:

  • 🧭 Skip the Peak Tower Observation Deck if you don’t want to pay — the Peak Galleria view is just as breathtaking and totally free.
  • 📷 Come before sunset to get both daytime and nighttime views. It’s quieter right before closing hours.
  • 🧴 Bring a light jacket — it gets breezy up there even during warm months.
  • 🚶Walk around the nearby Peak Circle Walk if you have time — it’s one of the most scenic strolls in Hong Kong.

💬 Peak Galleria gave us what we needed — space to breathe, a stunning view, and food without a long wait. While it might not be as famous or flashy as its neighbor, it’s a more relaxed, spacious, and surprisingly beautiful spot at Victoria Peak.

Sometimes, the best places are the ones not crowded with expectations. So if you're feeling overwhelmed, skip the lines at Peak Tower and take a detour to Peak Galleria.
