๐Ÿ️ Jawili Beach Travel Guide: Peaceful Escape Near Kalibo Airport

๐Ÿ️ Serenity Beyond Boracay: A Day Trip to Jawili Beach, Aklan

While most travelers fly to Kalibo Airport just to reach Boracay, we decided to take a detour — one that brought us peace, charm, and a whole lot less crowd. If you’re flying out from Kalibo like we were, why not spend a night here and explore one of Aklan’s underrated gems: Jawili Beach in Tangalan.

๐Ÿ—บ️ Where Is Jawili Beach?

๐Ÿ“ Location: Barangay Jawili, Tangalan, Aklan, Philippines
๐Ÿ•’ Travel Time from Kalibo: Approx. 1.5 hours by tricycle or van

๐ŸŒŠ Why Visit Jawili Beach?

If Boracay is all about the party and crowds, Jawili is its peaceful sister. With a long stretch of creamy white to grayish sand and a calm shoreline lined with coconut trees, this beach invites you to just breathe and relax.

๐ŸŒด Highlights:

  • Serene and quiet – perfect for a lowkey escape
  • Family-friendly and uncrowded
  • Rustic beach houses and local resorts along the shore
  • A perfect day-trip destination before your flight

We came here after a quick stop at the nearby Jawili Falls, and this calm beach felt like the perfect contrast.

๐Ÿ“ธ Best Spot for Views

Tip: Ask your driver to take you to the diving area or the highest coastal road — the view from there is postcard-worthy! ๐ŸŒ…

Even though we didn’t see many people swimming during our visit, a jeepney full of locals arrived just as we were leaving — picnic baskets and all. It’s clearly a hidden favorite among locals.

๐Ÿ›️ Want to Stay Overnight?

Yes, you can!
There are several budget resorts and beach houses right by the shore. But if you're on a tight schedule, a day tour is more than enough to enjoy the area and still make it back for your flight.

๐Ÿš– How to Get to Jawili Beach from Kalibo

The easiest way: Hire a local tricycle for a private day tour around Tangalan.

๐Ÿ›บ Here’s what I did:
I casually asked a tricycle driver outside Sampaguita Gardens if he knew someone offering tours. He smiled and said, “Ako na lang!” — and just like that, I got a full-day tour for only ₱800 (entrance fees not included).

๐ŸŽฏ Bonus: Most drivers are locals who know hidden gems not listed online — don’t hesitate to ask for suggestions!

๐Ÿ“Œ Other Nearby Attractions in Tangalan:

  • ๐Ÿž️ Jawili Falls – Multi-tiered waterfalls just a few minutes away
  • ๐Ÿ› Tangalan Church – One of the oldest coral-stone churches in Aklan
  • ๐Ÿ  Jawili Marine Sanctuary – A great spot for snorkeling or sightseeing
  • ๐Ÿงธ Sampaguita Gardens – A charming stop, especially for families

๐Ÿ’ก Travel Tips:

  • ✅ Visit during weekdays for the quietest experience
  • ✅ Bring snacks and water — there are limited stores in the area
  • ๐Ÿงด Don’t forget sunscreen and insect repellent
  • ๐Ÿ“ท Sunrise and late afternoon offer the best lighting for photos
  • ๐Ÿ—“️ Time your visit before your return flight to Manila if flying via Kalibo Airport

✈️ I’ve been to Boracay — and while it’s undeniably beautiful, there’s something about Jawili Beach that whispers calm. It's quiet, it's raw, and it's real. If you’re looking for a new spot to love in Aklan, skip the crowd and say hello to Jawili.
