🏯 How to Get to Ngong Ping Village in Hong Kong (Cable Car, Taxi, or Bus)

Ngong Ping Village was the first attraction we visited during our Hong Kong trip — straight from the airport! Since we arrived early, I figured it was the perfect way to maximize our time. I’m always the one who prepares our itinerary, and I make sure that every minute counts — because let’s be honest, traveling isn’t free!

If you’re planning to visit Ngong Ping Village as soon as you land in Hong Kong, here’s a detailed guide on how to get there.

🚠 Via the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car (Recommended!)

✈️ From Hong Kong International Airport to Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal:

  • Take a Lantau (blue) taxi
    Fare: HK$35
    Travel time: ~10 minutes
Drop-off point: Entrance of Citygate Outlets

OR

  • Take a bus to Citygate Outlets
    Fare: HK$3.50
Drop-off point: Bus terminal beside Citygate (across from Tung Chung MTR Exit B)

Super handy if you're going straight from the airport!

🗺️ Walking to the Cable Car Terminal:

From Citygate Outlets, follow these steps:

Exit between K-Swiss and City Chain

Bus Terminal facing the Exit B of Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal

Turn left, then immediately turn right upon exiting

Walk a few steps, and you’ll spot the Tung Chung Post Office

The Cable Car Terminal is just across from it

Don’t worry—there are friendly, uniformed guides around to help if needed. After that, just follow the line of visitors toward the ticketing windows.

🎟️ Cable Car Tickets & Klook Tip:

We booked our cable car tickets via Klook for a discounted price. While it meant waiting a bit longer to claim the actual tickets, the savings were worth it.

The ride itself takes around 19 minutes—a scenic, breathtaking (and slightly scary!) ride through the skies of Lantau Island.

📌 TIPS:
