๐Ÿงญ How to Get to Kowloon Walled City Park: Walking & Mini Bus Guide

If you're planning to visit Kowloon Walled City Park, there are two ways to get there: ๐Ÿšถ by foot from Lok Fu MTR Station or ๐ŸšŒ by green mini bus. We did both—walked going there and took the mini bus back—and here's how it went.

๐Ÿšถ‍♀️ By Foot from Lok Fu MTR Station

If you're up for a walk (and the weather isn’t scorching hot), here’s a step-by-step guide to help you find the park:

1. Ride the MTR to Lok Fu Station (Green Line). Travel time and fare depend on where you're coming from.

2. Exit at B2 and take the escalator down to the ground floor.

3. Stay on the right side and walk until you see a small mini park—don't be confused, this isn’t the actual Walled City Park.

4. Walk past the mini park, take the path that leads to a short flight of stairs going up to the main road.
Cross to the other side of the road and keep walking.

๐Ÿงญ Tip: You might spot some buildings on Google Maps that are shown as landmarks, but they’re actually located farther back and won’t help with directions. Save your battery and just keep walking until you see the children’s playground—that's when you know you're almost there!

๐Ÿ“ธ You’ll eventually pass:

  • A few residential buildings on your left and right
  • Signs along the way (thankfully!)
  • A children’s playground — this is your clue you’ve made it!
  • The official gate posts of the park

๐Ÿ“Œ Time estimate: They say it takes 10 minutes, but we clocked it at 16 minutes—and that’s without getting lost.

☂️ Tip: Bring an umbrella, cap, or anything to protect yourself from the sun (or rain). The walk is easy but can be uncomfortable depending on the weather.

๐ŸšŒ By Mini Bus (Green Mini Bus Options)

If you’d rather skip the walk or if you’re already tired from exploring, you can hop on a green mini bus. We tried this on the way back—and we’re glad we did!

Option 1: Mini Bus #39M – From Lok Fu Station to Carpenter Road

  1. From Lok Fu MTR Station, walk about 3 minutes to the Lok Fu Plaza Phase 2 Transport Terminal.
  2. Hop on Mini Bus #39M heading to Tung Tau Estate.
  3. Get off at the Carpenter Road stop. From there, it’s a short walk to the park entrance.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Fare: HK$3.60
๐Ÿ•’ Travel time: About 3 minutes

๐Ÿ“ Tip: You can also take this route back to the MTR station—just reverse the steps.

Option 2: Mini Bus #25M – From Kowloon Walled City Park to Mong Kok MTR

This was our “accidental discovery” after we got lost post-shopping at Kowloon City Plaza. We didn’t recognize the street names (they’re all in Chinese), so we just lined up at the first mini bus stop we saw—and it turned out to be a great route!

1. From the park, walk through Kowloon City Plaza and exit to the main road.

2. Cross the street and look for the bus stop for Mini Bus #25M.

3. Ride to Mong Kok MTR Station—from there, you can transfer to wherever you’re headed.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Fare: HK$5.50
๐Ÿ•’ Travel time: About 11 minutes
๐Ÿšฆ Bonus: Less traffic, comfy ride, and no need to navigate tricky streets.
