🌸 Hong Kong Day 4: Flower Market, BestMart 360°, and Crystal Jade Restaurant

☀️ Slow Start for a Light Itinerary

Since it was our last day and we only had two places in our itinerary—Hong Kong Flower Market and Yuen Po Bird Garden—we didn’t rush getting up. We took our time getting ready, packing, and grabbing breakfast.

🍱 8:30 AM – Breakfast at Yoshinoya

We didn’t have the courage to try any of the local eateries around Silka Seaview Hotel, so we played it safe and went back to Yoshinoya for the second time. And honestly? No regrets. I love their food and ordered the same set I had the first time. It’s warm, familiar, and comforting.

🚇 9:00 AM – MTR Ride to Mong Kok East

After breakfast, we walked to Yau Ma Tei MTR Station, just a few minutes from our hotel. We headed toward Prince Edward Station, which is close to the Flower Market and Yuen Po Bird Garden. Including transfers and walking time, it took us under 30 minutes to get there.

💐 9:27 AM – Exploring the Hong Kong Flower Market

At first, it looked a bit underwhelming—just potted plants lining the street. But as we walked further, the displays turned into colorful bursts of fresh and faux flowers. 🌸🌹🌻

It was stunning. The flowers were not just cheaper than in Manila—they looked more vibrant too. My friend wanted to buy some to bring home for her mom, but we decided against it, worried that they’d be confiscated at the airport. As for me? I just enjoyed taking photos and admiring them.

🛍️ 10:15 AM – More Finds Near the Flower Market

As we exited the flower stalls, we stumbled upon more shops: fruit and veggie stands, a cute sweet shop selling super affordable pastries, and a novelty store with traditional Chinese trinkets.

There was one unique item I really liked—but didn’t buy because I thought it was expensive. Now I regret it. I might not see that kind of item again when I return.

🏨 11:22 AM – Return to Silka Seaview Hotel

After snapping a few more pics and slowly strolling back, we returned to the hotel to check out. We left our luggage with the reception and decided to explore a little more before heading to the airport.

🍫 12:25 PM – Chocolate Surprise at BestMart 360°

We always passed by BestMart 360°, but we assumed they sold knock-off goods because everything looked too cheap. But curiosity got the better of us on our last day—and we’re glad it did! 😍

The chocolates were legit, and far cheaper than in Manila. This became our only shopping splurge in Hong Kong.

🚉 1:00 PM – Train to Hong Kong Station

After stuffing our chocolates into our luggage, we headed back to Yau Ma Tei MTR Station—which, unfortunately, has no escalator or elevator. 😓 Carrying luggage down two flights of stairs was a struggle.

A large man approached us. At first, we were nervous—thinking he might do something suspicious. But it turned out he just wanted to help. 😅 He carried one of our suitcases all the way down. We felt so bad for judging him too quickly, especially when we realized there was another flight of stairs he didn't see!

✈️ 3:30 PM – Hong Kong Station to Airport via Airport Express

One of the things I love most about Hong Kong is their transportation system, especially the Airport Express. Smooth, fast, and hassle-free.

Bonus tip: At Hong Kong Station, you can check in your luggage early if your airline supports it. We did just that and traveled comfortably to the airport without dragging bags around. What a relief!

🍜 4:15 PM – Dinner at Crystal Jade, Hong Kong Airport

With everything that happened that day, we completely forgot to eat lunch. So the moment we arrived at the airport, we searched for a decent restaurant to reward ourselves. We ended up at Crystal Jade.

Food: Great
Service: Slow
Language Barrier: Still a problem—staff had a hard time understanding English.

🛫 6:00 PM – Departure from Hong Kong

At around 5:00 PM, we finished dinner and started panicking—I thought our flight was at 5:30! We rushed through immigration, only to realize... our flight was actually at 6:00 PM. Still tight, but at least we didn’t miss it. 😅

📌 Lesson of the day: Always double-check your flight time!

💭 That wrapped up our 4-day Hong Kong adventure. It was fun, chaotic, exhausting, eye-opening—and worth every step. From Ngong Ping to Disneyland, Ocean Park to street markets, I fell in love with Hong Kong’s mix of modern and traditional, serenity and chaos.

If you’re planning your own trip, I hope my experiences help you map out your own adventure.
