🥾 After a Hike Comes a Reward: Lunch at Kaizen Sushi, Brunei
After our first day of (mis)adventures and two full days of walking—from getting lost downtown to conquering the trails of Tasek Lama Recreational Park—our feet and stomachs were in full agreement: We deserved a treat.
So, we did just that.
Fresh off the trails, slightly sunburnt but in good spirits, we walked our way to Kaizen Sushi, a popular Japanese restaurant in Bandar Seri Begawan, nestled right by the Kampong Ayer River.
🍛 Not a Sushi Lover? No Problem!
Now, I’ll admit it—I’m not a fan of raw food. Sushi has just never been my thing. But Kaizen had options beyond rolls and sashimi, and I happily ordered a warm, comforting plate of Japanese curry. It was just what I needed after the walk: rich, mildly spicy, and soul-satisfying.
Meanwhile, my companions went all in with sushi platters, miso soup, and green tea—all of which looked fresh and beautifully plated.
🌊 A View Worth Pausing For
What makes Kaizen Sushi extra special isn’t just the food—it’s the view.
We sat by the window, looking out at Kampong Ayer, the water village across the Brunei River. With the afternoon light dancing on the water and traditional stilt houses in sight, it was a moment of calm and beauty that made the meal even more memorable.
📌 Travel Tips: If You Plan to Visit Kaizen Sushi
💬 Kaizen Sushi offered us the perfect pause: good food, great views, and a chance to sit back after all the walking. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or, like me, someone who sticks to the curry side of the menu, it’s a place worth checking out if you’re in Brunei’s capital.
