๐ŸŒ… Cape Bojeador Lighthouse Burgos: Historic Guide & Visitor Tips

๐Ÿ—บ️ Gateway to Luzon from the North

Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, often called the Burgos Lighthouse, stands proudly on a hilltop in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. This historic lighthouse was the first land sighted by vessels approaching Luzon from northern China and East Asia, making it an important navigational landmark for centuries.

๐Ÿ“ Burgos, Ilocos Norte
๐Ÿ•ฐ️ Established: 1892
๐Ÿ—บ️ Accessible by car or a hike

๐Ÿ›️ Not the Tallest, But the Most Accessible in Luzon

While some claim it’s the tallest lighthouse in the Philippines, it’s not — but it is arguably the most accessible lighthouse in Luzon.

๐Ÿšถ‍♂️ Heads up: If you don’t have a vehicle, be prepared for a lengthy walk uphill to reach the lighthouse. However, the stair climb up the lighthouse itself is off-limits, as the structure is fragile and not maintained for public climbing.

๐ŸŒ„ Rewarding Views and Tranquil Moments

Although visitors can only explore up to the lighthouse base, the views of the surrounding coastline and ocean from the site are serene and breathtaking.

We spent some peaceful moments here, soaking in the cool sea breeze and the historic atmosphere before heading to our next adventure at the Kapurpurawan Rock Formation nearby.
