To make the most of your trip to Laoag and Paoay, staying at least one night is a must. We chose Northview Hotel, a no-frills stay that offered decent service—though the rooms are a bit dated.

Our original room had a faulty air conditioner that suddenly shut off, so we were transferred to another room. While the hotel staff handled it promptly, this might be something to watch out for.
