πŸ–️ Laiya Batangas Travel Blog: My Home Away from Home

There’s something about the beach that makes me feel at peace — the kind that heals the soul and calms the mind. And that’s exactly what Laiya in Batangas does for me. It’s my “home away from home,” a place I return to when you need to reset, unwind, or just bask in the simplicity of sun, sand, and sea.

If you're looking for a quick escape from Manila that offers nature, comfort, and good food — here's a glimpse of my Laiya experience.

πŸš— How I Got There (and How You Can Too)

I've tried both private and public travel options — both are doable depending on your vibe.

πŸš™ By Car (My Friend was Driving):

  • From SLEX, I take the Sto. Tomas exit.
  • Head toward San Juan, Batangas, and follow signs to Laiya.
  • It's a scenic 3.5-hour drive with stops at cute cafΓ©s along the way.

🚌 By Commute (Budget Mode):

  • Ride a bus to Lipa City (Jam Liner or DLTB).
  • Take a jeep to San Juan, then a tricycle or jeep to Laiya Beach.

πŸ“Œ Tip: Always travel early to beat traffic and get the best beach sun.

🌊 What to Do in Laiya

Laiya’s shoreline is the kind of place where I just... breathe. No pressure to be fancy. I just bring a mat, order buko juice, and let the waves do their thing.

πŸ–️ 1. Chill by the Beach

πŸ₯½ 2. Snorkeling & Boating

πŸŒ„ 3. Hike Mt. Daguldol

🐒 4. Pawikan Spotting

🍽️ Where To Eat When in Laiya

🍀 Acuatico Beach Resort – Fancy Days

If you are in the mood to treat yourself, drop by Acuatico for their seafood platters and stunning beachfront views. Worth every peso.

πŸ› Coco Grove – Feels Like Home

If you want a quiet, comforting meal, this is a must go. Their sinigang na baboy? Chef’s kiss.

☕ CafeΓ±o – On the Way Home

If you have time, stop at this charming cafΓ© in San Juan. Try their tapa and barako coffee, and buy suman sa lihiya as pasalubong.

🏨 Where I Stayed (and Why I Recommend It)

🏊  La Luz

La Luz Beach Resort is a family-owned sanctuary nestled in Brgy. Hugom, Laiya. With over 30 years of history, it offers a serene environment surrounded by lush greenery and a private beach.

Other resorts to check-out:

πŸ›️ Palm Beach Resort

Cozy, peaceful, and away from the crowd. Staff are super warm, and the rooms are perfect for families or barkada trips.

🏨 Acuaverde Resort

I stayed here during a solo trip. Great Wi-Fi, amazing staff, and dog-friendly — yes, I brought my pup!

πŸ’‘ Tips from Me to You

Book early – Resorts get fully booked quickly, especially on weekends.
Bring cash – Not all resorts accept cards or GCash.
No signal in some areas – Which is actually a blessing.
Snorkel sets cost extra – I now bring my own.
Corkage fees exist – Ask ahead if you’re bringing food.
Be respectful – Locals are kind; return the favor.
