When we were planning our Ocean Park day, we knew one thing: we needed a hotel that was affordable, close to the park, and convenient enough for our packed itinerary. After hours of comparing options online, we finally booked L’Hotel Island South (now called Nina Hotel Island South)—tucked in Wong Chuk Hang, just minutes away from Ocean Park and the iconic Jumbo Floating Restaurant.
🛥️ Unfortunately, we were so tired we decided not to go to Jumbo Floating Restaurant. Another reason to come back—if they're still operating!
🛬 Our Arrival = No Sleep, All Adventure
The hotel wasn’t just a place to sleep—it became our base camp for chaos (in the best way).
🤝 Service That Really Helped Us Out
What stood out most wasn’t just the comfort or convenience—it was the staff’s hospitality.
A friend of ours and her family were in Hong Kong at the same time but had to fly out a day earlier. While they spent their last day at Ocean Park, they needed a safe place to leave their luggage. Since we were staying at L’Hotel too, we helped out. The staff allowed us to store their bags at reception, and we later brought them up to our room.
When they returned to pick up their luggage (while we were still out), the hotel simply requested a copy of my passport and let them access our room. It was smooth, secure, and showed real trust and efficiency.
🚶♀️ The Walk We Thought Was Smart (It Wasn’t)
After Ocean Park, we were exhausted—but decided to walk back to the hotel, thinking it would be a nice way to end the day. We followed a group of tourists who looked like they knew where they were going. Spoiler alert: they didn’t. 😅
By the time we realized the walk was longer than expected, we were already halfway. Too late. We arrived so tired, we couldn’t even use the front entrance. Somehow, we ended up going through the hotel kitchen—people in the restaurant were probably wondering if we were okay. 😂
🏊♂️ Hotel Facilities = Skipped
We were so focused on our itinerary that we didn’t
get to try any of the hotel’s amenities—no pool, no gym, no dining.
But that’s okay—because for us, the location, convenience, and good service
made it all worth it.

The next morning, while waiting for our taxi, we had a bit of time to finally enjoy the hotel lobby. It’s simple but stylish—so of course, I took a few photos!

Definitely.
The room was comfortable, the staff was incredibly helpful, and it gave us exactly what we needed—a reliable place to rest between adventures. If you’re planning a trip to Ocean Park or South Hong Kong, I 100% recommend it.
