π Why Cingjing Was Our Favorite Stop in Taiwan
When we traveled to Taiwan in 2016, we skipped the usual first-day Taipei tour and went straight to Cingjing in Nantou County. It was a long ride, but completely worth it. For us, it was the most scenic and peaceful part of our trip.
We stayed at the charming Spring Ground B&B, a hidden gem just beside the Old English Manor. While they don’t have a website, we booked through Agoda and messaged the hosts directly to confirm. They were incredibly kind—even offering to drive us to Cingjing Farm!
πΊ️ How to Get to Spring Ground B&B from Taichung HSR Station (2025)
π Option 1: Private Car Service (Most Comfortable)
If you prefer convenience, you can pre-arrange a car service to take you directly from HSR Taichung Station to Spring Ground B&B.
- π Travel Time: ~1.5 hours
- π° Fare: NT$2,400 (~₱3,600) per vehicle
- ✅ Ideal for groups or families with luggage
- π² Contact a local service or ask your B&B host to help arrange
π Option 2: By Bus (Most Budget-Friendly)
If you're commuting via public transport, here's how we did it:
1. π️ Buy a Bus Ticket at Nantou Bus Counter
- π Located at Exit 5, 1st Floor, Taichung HSR Station
- πΊ Choose from:
- Regular One-Way Ticket: NT$251 (~₱376)
- Cingjing Farm Pass (Round-Trip + Farm Entry): NT$600 (~₱899)
- π Includes NT$200 Cingjing Farm entry fee
2. π Take the Direct Bus to Shouting Station
- π£️ Route: Taichung → Puli → Cingjing
- π Travel Time: ~2 hours 10 minutes
- π Important: Tell the staff to notify the driver to drop you at Shouting Station (ε°η士θ±εη«).
π― Spring Ground B&B is just a 2-minute walk from Shouting Station.
π Tips for a Smooth Cingjing Commute (2025)
- π Book early if traveling during spring or autumn. Buses get crowded during long weekends and flower seasons.
- π§₯ Bring warm layers — Cingjing’s highland climate can be chilly even in summer.
- π Carry a power bank and snacks for the road.
- π§️ Expect fog or sudden rain, especially late afternoons.
π½️ Food Options Around Spring Ground B&B
We didn’t go hungry! There are lots of food choices nearby—hotpot places, grilled street food, tea houses, and even convenience stores within walking distance.
π If you're looking for a break from city crowds, Cingjing is the perfect peaceful escape. With cool weather, dramatic landscapes, and kind locals, it's no wonder this was our top pick from that trip.
π Save this post, map your route, and don’t forget to message Spring Ground B&B ahead for any help.
