🐼 TaiwanDering Four Day 4: Longshan Temple | Bangka Qingshan Temple | Taipei Zoo

The last day of any trip always feels strange.

You wake up knowing there’s still time—but not enough. Every moment suddenly feels heavier, slower, and more meaningful. This was our last full day in Taiwan, and even though we still had places to visit, part of me was already preparing to say goodbye.

7:00 AM – Wake-Up Call
Waking up that morning felt different.

There was no rush, no excitement about what we might discover next—just the quiet realization that this was our last day. I stayed in bed a little longer than usual, trying to hold on to the feeling of being in Taiwan just a bit more.

Eventually, we got up, packed what we could, and prepared for breakfast.

🍽️ 8:15 AM – Breakfast at Just Sleep Hotel

We went down for breakfast at Just Sleep Hotel one last time.

I ate more than I did the previous days—maybe because I didn’t want to regret it again, or maybe because food feels more comforting when you know it’s your last morning somewhere.

The dining area felt quieter, calmer. I found myself looking around, memorizing small details—things you usually don’t notice until you know you won’t be back the next day.

🚆 8:53 AM – Travel to Longshan Temple

After breakfast, we headed out and took the train to Longshan Temple.

The train ride felt almost routine by now, which made it even more bittersweet. Taiwan had started to feel familiar—easy, comfortable, and welcoming.

🏮 9:25 AM – Longshan Temple & Street Food Walk

We arrived at Longshan Temple and spent time walking around the grounds.

The atmosphere was calm and spiritual. Locals prayed quietly, incense filled the air, and for a moment, everything felt still. We walked slowly, taking our time, knowing we didn’t need to rush anymore.

Outside the temple, we tried different street food, walking aimlessly until we stumbled upon another smaller temple nearby, the Bangka Qingshan Temple. It wasn’t part of the plan—but those unplanned moments often end up being the most memorable.

🚠 10:18 AM – Travel to Taipei Zoo (Gondola Ride)

From Longshan Temple, we made our way to Taipei Zoo.

By 11:18 AM, we arrived at the gondola station. Riding the cable car felt relaxing—quiet, scenic, and almost meditative. It gave us time to sit with our thoughts, watching the city slowly fade into greenery.

🐼 12:40 PM – Taipei Zoo Exploration

We arrived at Taipei Zoo and took the internal train to get around.

The zoo was big, peaceful, and perfect for a slow last day. We walked, observed, and laughed at small things—no pressure, no strict schedule. We know where and what animal to see, so we didn't explore it all. The only thing I was looking forward to see is the Panda Bear. After our visit in Hong Kong and didn't see the Panda because it's eating behind the bamboo plants, I made sure that we go visit Panda in Taipei Zoo. But like it's known to be, lazy, the Panda Bear was sleeping! We waited if it's going to wake-up, but it didn't (sigh). So we left the zoo, unsatisfied!

At 2:15 PM, we bought snacks and a light lunch from 7-Eleven inside the zoo. Somehow, even convenience store food tastes different when you’re traveling.

🧳 3:07 PM – Back to the Hotel, Then the Airport

After exploring the zoo, reality finally caught up with us.

We headed back to the hotel to get our luggage, then made our way to the airport. Seeing the train signs pointing to the airport always hits hard—it’s the moment when the trip truly ends.

Our flight wasn’t until 8:30 PM, so we had dinner at the airport. We ate quietly, tired but content, replaying memories from the past few days.

💭 Leaving Taiwan

I don’t remember taking many photos that day.

What I remember instead is the feeling—
the heaviness in my chest,
the quiet moments,
the way Taiwan slowly slipped from “vacation” into memory.

Leaving is always the hardest part. Not because the place was perfect—but because it felt right.
