Maria Kanon Madonna of Peace Shrine

Just below the Crucified Christ is the Madonna of Japan Shrine with the statue of Maria Kanon, the Goddess of Peace. This statue was donated by Japan to the Philippines as a symbol of peace and friendship.

Probably a peace offering for all the hardship and damaged caused by them during the war. It's sometimes known as the Japanese Peace Park.  It has benches, lamp post and altar for offerings.  It looks abandoned and neglected though when we visit there.

Just follow the path from the Crucified Christ monument to get there.
