๐ŸšŒ JAC Liner Door-to-Door Service to Marinduque – Complete Guide & Review

Traveling to Marinduque can be quite the adventure — especially if you’re traveling with senior citizens and a baby, like we did. We recently tried the door-to-door service offered by JAC Liner from their Kamias terminal to Marinduque, and here’s everything you need to know if you’re considering it too.

๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿ‘ถ Why We Chose Door-to-Door

I used this service before for my Nanay when she traveled alone, and it went smoothly. Now that we have a baby and two senior family members, convenience and fewer transfers were our top priority. The idea of not having to line up for bus or ferry tickets, especially during peak seasons like Christmas or Holy Week, made this option appealing.

๐Ÿ“ฒ Booking Your Ticket

You can easily book your ticket through Biyaheroes. Just enter “Marinduque” as your destination, select your town, and it will show you available schedules and pricing.

๐Ÿ“ Booking Tips:

  • Book early. During holidays, seats get sold out fast.

  • ๐Ÿšซ No reserved seats at terminals for door-to-door buses.

  • ⚠️ Avoid standing trips. If you book late, you may get a ticket without a seat.

๐Ÿ Kamias Terminal Only

The door-to-door option is only available at JAC Liner's Kamias terminal, so make sure to choose that as your pick-up point when booking.

For Buenavista-bound passengers:

  • If you're booking multiple tickets, you'll see "Buenavista" as a drop-off point.

  • If you're booking solo, choose Gasan, and instruct the conductor to drop you off in Buenavista, since it’s along the route.

For roundtrip bookings, you don’t need to select a drop-off point.

๐Ÿš What’s Included?

  • ๐Ÿ’ธ All-in fare: ₱1,300 (as of writing)

  • ๐Ÿก Door-to-door drop-off: Anywhere along the main road

  • ๐Ÿ•’ Travel time: Around 10–14 hours

    • (depends on driver speed and roadside pickups)

๐Ÿ” My Honest Thoughts

While the service is convenient, it has its flaws — especially if you're traveling with a baby.

๐Ÿ‘ Pros

  • Fewer transfers — ideal for families with kids and elderly

  • No need to queue for ferry or bus tickets

  • Direct drop-off near your home in Marinduque

  • ✅ All-in-one booking via Biyaheroes

๐Ÿ‘Ž Cons

  • ๐Ÿ•’ Long travel time — our trip took 14 hours

  • ๐ŸšŒ Outdated buses — not spacious or modern

  • ๐Ÿ“ถ No Wi-Fi — unlike regular JAC Liner provincial buses

  • ๐Ÿšข Limited ferry option — only Montenegro Lines, which:

    • Has older, smaller vessels

    • Offers hot, uncomfortable seating

    • Has few amenities unless it's Christmas (bigger boats with beds)

  • ๐Ÿฝ️ Carinderia dinner stop — limited food choices and rude staff

๐Ÿ’ก Tips for a Smoother Trip

  1. ๐Ÿ›️ Bring a neck pillow & blanket – The long trip can be uncomfortable, especially overnight.

  2. ๐Ÿฑ Pack your own food/snacks – The stopover options are limited and may not suit your taste.

  3. ๐Ÿงƒ Bring water – Stay hydrated, especially when traveling with kids or elderly.

  4. ๐Ÿ”Œ Charge your devices – There are no charging ports or Wi-Fi onboard, so prepare entertainment in advance.

  5. ๐Ÿ‘ถ Travel light – Minimize luggage if possible; space is tight and you’ll appreciate mobility.

  6. ๐ŸŽง Bring earphones or earplugs – Helpful if you're trying to rest during the trip.

  7. ๐Ÿ“… Avoid peak travel days – If possible, avoid weekends and holidays to lessen delays.

  8. ๐Ÿ“ท Screenshot your ticket & reference code – Internet access can be spotty, so save your details offline.

๐Ÿผ Final Verdict

Would I choose this service again now that I have a baby?
Not unless I absolutely have to.

While the convenience is a huge plus, the comfort and travel time leave a lot to be desired — especially for families with kids or those looking for a smoother experience.

If JAC Liner could upgrade their buses and improve ferry options, this would be a top-tier service for Marinduque travelers. Until then, manage your expectations.
