Helmet Dive

If you wondered how it feels to walk on the ocean floor, you can stop now. Because you can actually do it in Helmet Diving when you visit Boracay. I've heard so much about this activity that I wanted to try it myself.

When we visited Boracay, I made sure that we try this.  One of my friends is scared to do it because she heard many negative reviews, but we were able to convinced her. We got this as part of the package along with the Parasailing & ATV for Php2,200.00 per person.

After the Parasailing, were brought to this barge that serves as their station in the middle of the sea. Before we start the activity, there's a short briefing on what to do during the activity. How to make different hand signals since we will not be able to talk underwater. It's pretty simple and short.
The helmet weighs 30 kilos (55lbs.), but don't worry because when you are underwater, the weight will dramatically decreases. You will be asked to go down the ladder first and when the water is up to your neck, they will put the helmet on you.
We are all first timers so we still can't help but worry since we are going 10 feet underwater. I was disoriented at first when my feet hit the sea bed, but I adjusted after a couple of pinches on my nose and blow to remove the pressure in my ears.
There are two divers who are assisting us and one of them took my camera to take pictures.  The other one, is handling their own camera and giving us signal  to do silly things while he's taking pictures.

I enjoyed it very much and wished we have more than 15 minutes. It will also be more amazing if there are more fishes around. But I think it's because there's not much of coral reefs near.  You will not be able to see the fishes until you feed them the soft bread provided by the divers. A lot of them will come to you when you start holding out the bread.

This activity is pretty easy, fun and enjoyable, you just have to follow the instructions and listen to their briefing. You don't have to be a diver to enjoy this! Given the chance, I will do this again!

Regular Price for Helmet Diving is Php1,500.00 per person for 15 minutes. Make sure to haggle when you're offered for activities in Boracay.
