Known as a “Foggy Eden” far away from the bustling city, Cingjing Farm in Nantou is a mountain paradise where visitors can enjoy fresh air, rolling green pastures, friendly farm animals, cherry blossoms in spring, and breathtaking starry skies at night.
At 2,000 meters above sea level, this highland retreat offers crisp weather year-round (around 15°C), a refreshing contrast to Taiwan’s tropical lowlands. Whether you’re here for the sheep-shearing shows, horse-riding acrobatics, or simply strolling through scenic flower-lined trails, Cingjing Farm is a must-visit gem often compared to “Taiwan’s Switzerland.”
๐ Personal Travel Story

Even though it was raining, foggy, and cold—and despite having no sleep from our overnight trip—we headed to Cingjing Farm excitedly. Our Airbnb host at Spring Ground B&B kindly provided free shuttle service to the farm, which was already included in the room rate.
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a blanket of fog, but that didn’t stop us. We paid the entrance fee and started exploring without following the map—just going wherever looked interesting through the mist.
We weren’t able to catch the Horsemanship Show, but we did meet and feed some sheep up close, which was such a fun experience. The fog grew thicker and the crowds heavier, so we didn’t linger too long.
At one point, my friends left me behind while I was busy taking photos—I had to yell through the fog while running to catch up (a hilarious memory!).

Once we had enough photos, we walked back to the entrance and took a bus to the Small Swiss Garden. If you’re up for more walking, you can also take the Long Trail (around 30 minutes) from Green Green Grasslands down to the Garden, with blooming sakura, chirping birds, and tranquil scenery along the way.

๐ Foodie Note: Don’t Skip Taiwan’s 7-Eleven!

Before heading up to Cingjing Farm, we made a quick stop at the 7-Eleven near Swiss Garden for snacks. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the mouthwatering aroma of Shabu-Shabu hot pot—yes, you can actually build your own mini hot pot inside 7-Eleven! ๐ฒ
We didn’t try it this time since we were short on time, but it’s such a fun and affordable foodie experience you should check out if you can. Even without it, Taiwan’s convenience stores are travel lifesavers, whether you’re craving snacks, hot drinks, or just need a quick energy boost before exploring the misty mountains.
๐ Tip: Stock up here before entering Cingjing Farm, since food inside the farm can get crowded (and pricier).

๐ Whether you’re planning to catch the sheep shearing show, hike the scenic trails, or simply sip tea while enjoying the view, Cingjing Farm deserves a spot on your Taiwan itinerary.
๐ So pack your jacket, charge your camera, and get ready to experience Taiwan’s very own slice of Switzerland. ๐ฟ
