๐ŸŒซ️ Mist Plaza (ๆธ…ๅขƒ้Šๅฎขไผ‘้–’ไธญๅฟƒ) – The Heart of Cingjing

After our foggy adventure at Cingjing Farm, we hopped on a bus and asked the driver to drop us off at the Small Swiss Garden in Mist Plaza. By the time we arrived, it was already late and dark, so we missed seeing the garden’s flowers and attractions in daylight. But that didn’t make our visit any less magical—we were greeted by twinkling LED light displays that lit up the misty night, creating a whimsical and dreamlike atmosphere.

Since we were starving (we hadn’t had a proper meal since the airplane!), we decided to have dinner first before exploring the garden.

๐Ÿ Bee Pollen | Carton King Shop & Restaurant (็ด™็ฎฑ็Ž‹)

The first thing we noticed when we walked into Carton King Restaurant was its quirky displays made entirely of cardboard. From tables, chairs, and lamps to fun paper sculptures of animals and characters, the place felt like a giant carton art gallery.

Before ordering, we wandered around the displays—it was impossible not to stop and admire the creativity! Once seated, we enjoyed our meal while overlooking the Small Swiss Garden. I can’t remember the exact names of the dishes we ordered, but I do remember they were hearty and delicious—just what we needed after a long, cold day.

๐Ÿ“ธ What to See Inside Carton King

  • ๐Ÿช‘ Carton Furniture – Dining tables and chairs made of cardboard.
  • ๐Ÿฎ Carton Lamps – Unique, glowing paper lanterns and light designs.
  • ๐Ÿผ Carton Sculptures – Cute animal and character figures.
  • ๐Ÿฏ Bee Pollen Goodies – Local honey, teas, and snacks.
  • ๐Ÿ›️ Souvenir Shop – Carton crafts and DIY kits to bring home.

๐ŸŒผ Small Swiss Garden (ๅฐ็‘žๅฃซ่Šฑๅœ’) – Taiwan’s Little Switzerland

After dinner, we walked into the Small Swiss Garden, also known as “Taiwan’s Little Switzerland” or “Paradise in the Mist.” Although it was already dark, we still enjoyed the LED sunflower fields and colorful fountain shows, which gave the garden a completely different charm at night.

The plaza is surrounded by familiar shops like 7-11, Starbucks, and Mos Burger, making it convenient for snacks or coffee before exploring.

๐ŸŒธ Fun Fact: If you visit during the day and buy a ticket, you can return again at night for free—perfect for experiencing the garden’s two different moods.

๐Ÿซ A Sweet Ending at Mist Plaza

After exploring the Small Swiss Garden at night, it was time to head back to our B&B. The only problem? We weren’t able to reach our host for pick-up. Luckily, a kind lady who owned a chocolate shop in the plaza came to our rescue. She offered to call our host for us, making sure we could get back safely.

As a thank you (and because the chocolates in her shop looked absolutely irresistible), we bought a box of handmade truffles. Later that night at our B&B, those truffles became our impromptu dessert—a sweet ending to a foggy but fun day in Cingjing.

Sometimes, it’s these little unexpected encounters that make travel so special.

Mist Plaza is more than just a stopover—it’s a cozy hub of dining, shopping, and magical scenery. Whether you’re here for the quirky Carton King Restaurant, the dreamy Small Swiss Garden, or simply to rest before heading to Hehuanshan, this little plaza captures the playful, foggy charm of Cingjing.

If I could do it again, I’d visit the garden twice in one day—once during daylight for the flowers and trees, and once at night for the dazzling fountain and LED displays.

๐Ÿ“Œ Planning a trip to Cingjing? ๐ŸŒฟ Don’t miss the chance to dine at Carton King and stroll through the Small Swiss Garden at Mist Plaza. Whether you’re a foodie, nature lover, or just looking for Instagram-worthy photos, this is one stop you’ll definitely want on your Taiwan itinerary!
