πΏ A Swinging Experience on Bohol's Iconic Twin Bamboo Bridge
Photo take in 2013 |
The Sipatan Twin Hanging Bridge in Sevilla, Bohol was originally built to serve a practical purpose—helping locals transport produce across the Sipatan River. But what began as a modest crossing has evolved into one of Bohol’s quirkiest tourist attractions.
π€️ Not Just Bamboo Anymore

"Believe it or not, the bridge may look fragile, but it can hold a lot of weight. Still, it sways and bounces as you walk, giving it that ‘jungle adventure’ feel!"
π§♀️ My Adrenaline-Fueled Walk Across
πΈ Photos taken in 2013: My first time crossing, I just had to mess with my friends. I started jumping and swaying the bridge, making them scream and grip the rails like their lives depended on it. π
πΈ Photos taken in 2016: Went back with my family. This time, no teasing. The bridge had already become more tourist-friendly—with better safety, cleaner surroundings, and more organized crowd flow:
- One bridge to cross
- The other to return
πΆ♀️ Pro Tip: The bridge sways less when fewer people are crossing, so if you’re scared, let the others go first.
π View from the Bridge
As you walk across, look down and admire the clear waters of the Sipatan River. Unlike many rivers in urban areas, this one is clean and serene. It’s a refreshing sight—and sound—beneath your feet.
π️ Cheap Pasalubong Finds
At the far end of the bridge, you’ll find souvenir stalls selling local items. When I visited in 2016, most were already closing, but we still managed to grab some goodies. Their prices?
π Way cheaper than city souvenir shops. Great for budget travelers!
π€ Fear Factor or Fun Challenge?
The Bamboo Hanging Bridge is not just a crossing—it's an experience. Some tourists laugh, others scream or crawl across (we witnessed that too!). But everyone leaves with a story.
"One tourist was cursing and screaming the whole way—she nearly crawled just to cross. But hey, she made it. And so will you!"
