🌴 A Must-Experience Attraction in Bohol

Loboc River has become one of Bohol’s top tourist attractions because of its serene beauty and the delightful floating restaurant river cruise. It's included in almost every tour package—and for good reason.

Whether you're wrapping up a countryside tour or just looking for a peaceful lunch experience, cruising the emerald-green Loboc River is the perfect way to unwind.

πŸŒ‰ The Bridge That Leads to the Cruise

Loboc Bridge, now formally known as the Alfonso L. Uy Promenade, connects visitors from the main road to the cruise boarding area.

πŸ“Œ Fun Fact: This bridge was once called the “Bridge to Nowhere” due to a construction delay over concerns it might damage the historical Loboc Church. Thankfully, the church remains intact.

πŸ”§ After the 2013 earthquake, the bridge was briefly closed. By our July 2016 visit, it was operational again.

🚌 Then vs. Now: Shuttle Service

Photos taken in 2016 - after the earthquake

In 2013, a free shuttle would take guests from the bridge to the cruise station. Even though we had a private car, we tried the shuttle for fun. By 2016, the shuttle was gone, and our vehicle took us directly to the station. In 2025, no shuttle service is available—private cars can drive up to the drop-off area.

πŸ›️ Station Improvements (2013 ➡️ 2016 ➡️ 2025)

The cruise station has seen remarkable upgrades over the years:

Expanded parking
Renovated ticketing booth
Cleaner waiting area
Souvenir shops have popped up around the station
QR code scanning system (NEW in 2025) for faster boarding

The system is now more organized, and you can even reserve tickets online via the Bohol Tourism website.

🍽️ Cruise Experience: Food, Music & Nature

The cruise runs upstream toward Busay Falls, with stops along the way for cultural dance performances by local barangays. You'll enjoy:

🎢 Live music from a local band
πŸ› A buffet meal onboard
🧘 A relaxing atmosphere surrounded by clean, peaceful waters

While the food might not be gourmet (don't trust the tarpaulin photos entirely), the experience is priceless—especially with great company and beautiful surroundings.

πŸ“ Note: In 2025, some floating restaurants began offering vegetarian and halal options, but it’s best to confirm before booking.
